Being new to the Substack World, and this idea of Wildlight and Sage in general, which has suddenly bloomed in my mind (actually, truthfully, it has been brewing in the back of my brain for many years) it feels weird for me to write a “Welcome” first post. It seems unnecessary in my opinion - you can go and read the About Page on the Substack, that’s probably going to cover it.

I have done some research into how to do a Substack - and of course it was suggested to do this post - so here I am doing it. However, it may or may not be what they (they being the internet of peoples thoughts) had envisioned a welcome post should be. I will do the research to start, as I am not an “ideas” woman, and I definitely need a starting point, it’s how my brain is wired - but give me an idea and I will let my brain run with that to wherever it decides to end up. Probably, most likely, definitely not where the original idea’s person thought it would. Or wanted it to. And truth be told, I am winging it over here.

So if I do it wrong, to be honest, I’m at a time in my life, where I simply couldn’t give a rats arse. I don’t care. I don’t want to be “perfect”. I don’t want to be the best at it. I just want to enjoy this work that I am creating. I want this work to be accessible. And real. And relatable. And I’m going to do things my way, because I’m so tired of following rules that suppress and oppress my creativity and who I truly am. I hope if you’re reading this you are too.
So welcome to Wildlight and Sage - come hang with me while I figure this Substack stuff out and do this work that truly speaks to my soul.
And for those of you who read to the end….. here’s a creative offering from me. An A5 art print for you to download and do what you like with. Frame it, cut it up and use it in your artwork/collage/art journaling, make cards, or just put it aside if its not your cup of tea. There will be plenty more offerings to come that may be more your style.
Always feel free to comment (just remember what Thumper says in Bambi), share your thoughts, ideas, suggestions and stories. I love hearing from you.
